Updating Files:

Files from earlier version of PGGP can be upgraded to 5.0 files. PGGP 5.0will open PGGP 4 files. A brief message will be displayed, telling you that the file will be updated. PGGP 5.0 for Mac will append the extension .pgp at the end of the file. This extension can be helpful in determining which file is which after you upgrade.

The new file is a completely different format...the exact format that PGGP 5.0 for Windows uses. This means that if the file is carried in to a Windows machine, it will open and save directly. However, earlier copies of PGGP will not be able to open the new files.

Odd Note:  PGGP 4.5 will open PGGP 5 files, but will loose all the Standards-Based data.   If you are moving to PGGP 5, make sure you don't have any older copies of PGGP stashed around that may cause grief.
